What we want to do

We all know the leaders, but how much do we really know about their parties and how they work on the ground?

Political parties play a decisive role in shaping the destiny of Southeast Asia. The Political Party Forum Southeast Asia provides a regional platform for discussion and exchange of information between party leaders and strategists on one side and political scientists and journalists working on political parties on the other. This dialogue could help party politicians to understand better what they are doing or where they are heading, and, at the same time, give the political science community better access to the information they need for analysis and theorizing. The Forum will also allow early discussion of new theoretical approaches and provide the opportunity to test new ideas before they go into a wrong direction. Thus the forum tries to help the party systems in the region develop in a direction which secures as much as possible political stability and balanced economic and social progress.
